Statistics
The numbers behind the road.
In perspective
The same numbers, from another angle.
Kilometres and days on the road
Year by year: how far our trips took us and how many days they lasted.
Kilometres per year
The distance of every trip we wrote up, taken from the trip posts. Everyday driving is not included. The brightest bar is the record year.
Days on the road per year
Distinct days that belong to a trip.
When we travel
Month by month, from our location history. Older years look emptier than they were, because the history has gaps.
Month by month
Darker means more kilometres.
Busiest months

How this site is built
Everything here is generated from data we already collect. No numbers are typed in by hand; the page rebuilds itself every night.
Dawarich
Our own location history. GPS points from the phone and the car become trips with dates, routes and distances.
Immich
Our self-hosted photo library. Every trip has an album; photos and videos land on the trip pages and maps.
Hub
The glue and a private toolbox behind a login. It reads Dawarich, Immich and WordPress, combines them and writes posts, maps and these statistics, next to the garage and car logs, fuel and charging, and the photo tagger.
WordPress
Publishes the site: trip posts, trip journals, vehicle pages and this page, all generated, not typed by hand.
EVCC
Our home charger controller. Charging sessions of the electric car feed its kWh and consumption numbers.
Home Assistant
Our smart home. The cars show up in it by themselves, and it brings the Hub’s messages to the phone.
Car devices
Small computers in the cars read the engine and the road, talk to each other by radio, show it all on screens and update themselves over the air.
Claude
Our AI co-pilot from Anthropic. It wrote the code behind this site and the cars, designed these pages and keeps it all tidy, working alongside us in plain conversation.
The Hub, the firmware and the theme, counted every night from their code:
