Winter family break in Kraków and Zakopane, a journey between history and the heart of the mountains. In five days, we moved from the rhythm of an old royal city to the quiet beauty of snow-covered peaks.
Kraków welcomed us with its timeless charm. Wandering through the Main Market Square, we admired the Cloth Hall and the towering presence of St. Mary’s Basilica. The streets carried the scent of mulled wine, filling the crisp air with warmth. A stop at Wawel Castle felt like stepping into the past, while the winding alleys of Kazimierz revealed a quieter, more intimate side of the city.
Then came Zakopane—the contrast was striking. Wooden houses, smoky scents of oscypek, and the ever-present silhouette of Giewont in the distance. The cable car ride to Kasprowy Wierch gifted us breathtaking views, the kind that demand silence just to take it all in.
These days weren’t just about seeing places but about slowing down and truly feeling them.
