Sandomierz
The National Education Day gave us a free day off school, so we spent it in Sandomierz.
We walked through the loess gorge twice, and it is the kind of place that looks different every time. On the second pass we finally found Salve Regina Hill, a cone-shaped mound that is believed to date back to around the 7th century.
We also walked through Piszczele Park, which comes with a dark legend. When the Mongols were about to attack Sandomierz, Halina Krępianka tricked them into the tunnels under the town. The tunnels were then collapsed, and everyone died, including her.
We finished with a walk around the Old Town.
