Archipelago and Coastal Route

This leg of our journey had us weaving along Finland’s charming coastline, beginning with a stop in Fiskars. There, we stumbled upon a lively flea market and local festival. The town’s historic mill and the story of the Fiskars brand offered a deeper glimpse into industrial roots wrapped in rustic charm.

From Fiskars, we ventured across the stunning Archipelago, hopping from island to island via multiple ferry crossings. The road curved through ever-changing scenery—seaside vistas, quiet villages, and forest-lined shores, each more inviting than the last.

Our route led us into Turku, where we explored both the iconic castle and a maritime museum filled with stories of the sea and ships. The blend of historical architecture and nautical exploration made for a memorable cultural dive.

Next came Rauma, greeting us with cool rain and mist, though the weather did little to dampen our spirits. In fact, it brought something even better—Finnish hospitality. We were invited into warm sauna where locals shared tales and traditions, and we took refreshing dips in the cold sea between sessions. It was an unforgettable ritual of community and rejuvenation.

This portion of the trip fused coastal history with heartfelt encounters, where nature’s beauty and human warmth flowed as freely as the sea winds that guided us forward.
